形態特徵

• Culms 0.5-1.5 m tall, 0.5-5.0 cm in diam., green smooth, internodes 10-30 cm long; nodes prominent; branches 1-5 in clusters at each node.
• Sheath of culm coriaceous, minutely hairy outside, fimbriate along upper margins; auricles of sheath nearly inconspicuous; ligule of sheath truncate; blade of sheath linear, acute, entire. Leaves 5-9, linear-lanceolate, 6-28 cm long, 5-10 mm broad, sharply tapering at apex, cuneate at base, veins 1-4, veinlets 5, tessellate, spinulose-scabrous along one margin, sparsely so or entire along other; petiole short, 2 mm long; auricles of leaf inconspicuous; ligule of leaf convex, 1.5-4 mm high, rounded, aristate; sheath of leaf glabrous.
• Inflorescence a raceme; spikelets broadly linear, 3-9 –flowered; empty glumes 2, lanceolate; lemmas ovate-lanceolate, 7-12 mm long, veins 11-15; palea 11 mm long, bilobed at apex, veins 3 between keels, 3 between each keel and edge, densely hairy on keel; ovary obovoid, 1-1.4 mm long, with 3 feathery stigmas; stamens 3, filaments short, anthers 7.5 mm log; lodicules 3, 3 mm long, hairy along upper margins.

分布

• 台灣 : Introduced to the Liukuei Branch of the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute; cultivated in Taipei, Chiayi, Nantou and Kaohsiung as an ornamental plant.
• 世界 : Native of the Ryukyus.
